Welcome!

I'm so happy you found me here! Since every first blog post should have a funny meme.. and this is your first impression of me I will pass this along to my sitcom hero... Mr. Phil Dunphy!

Alright, now that we've taken care of that... I've been mulling over the thought of a new blog for a little while now and I'm excited to see what this little guy will turn into! This is my second attempt at blogging, my first had a good run while I was in university, but then kinda fizzled once I'd left school. It's still live, and posts are added to it (once in a while!) so go and have a gander if you have a spare few minutes to look at pictures of custom cakes! Cakengineer.blogspot.com. You may notice the theme in the name... short word that ends in 'e' then the word 'engineer', (that is intended to be 'Cake Engineer' not Cak engineer as some of my darling cousins call it!) This brand new sparkly blog is the House Engineer! You may have guessed that I am an engineer by trade but like to branch out in my spare time with some more creative endeavours. In university it was Cakes, and now it's mostly random Pinterest projects around my house and a few cakes thrown in for good measure!
My idea for this blog is to take you on an exciting adventure thru DIY projects, mostly sourced from Pinterest, and life at home as I update my 1955 bungalow located in the great white north... AKA Canada! If you live in Canada (or the UK, or Australia, or anywhere that isn't the USA) then you might also be familiar with the frustration of finding an awesome tutorial/piece of furniture/idea but all or most of the things are only available in the states! Seriously, if you are from the states you have no idea how lucky you are! This blog will be me, updating and DIY-ing with things that can ALL be found in/shipped to CANADA with relative ease and hopefully (my husband reminds me from the kitchen) on a budget. So lets get started shall we? Click on to the next post for a more formal introduction!
